Day at the Beach

We enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach today. Considering that Japan is an island, there are many beaches around. However, it took us 2 hrs. to cover the 35 miles to this particular beach and then 3+hrs to return home. All due to the lovely Tokyo traffic.
Nevertheless, it was a great day and Vanya suggested we do it more often. The beach was nice and the water was warm, yet refreshing. I did not like the sand. It is hard to describe, very dark and very fine. It sticks to EVERYTHING and it's very hard to wash off. All things considered, we'll be visiting the beach again, hopefully in the near future.

Baseball Time

Last night Cameron took the boys to their first baseball game. They had a great time and came home talking non-stop about it. Vanya was impressed as to how far or high the ball would get hit. He also commented on the way they sell drinks (beer); young women carring around a dispenser as a back pack, it's hard to explain, but they act as a drinking fountain. It was a nice night to be out since it had rained earlier in the day making it a little cooler. It has been amazingly hot and humid.
We are finally done with our jet lag and waking up at our normal time of 7am. Sun, Mon and Tue the kids were up somewhere between 4 and 5 am. We were also falling asleep around 6-8pm. I'm glad that is done.

We also enjoyed seeing all the cousins dressed up in Chinese dress, Mesa Falls and celebrating my grandma's 91st birthday. What a great summer!

Summer in the USA

Here are a few pictures of our adventures this summer. I must admit, I always forget to pull out the camera. We missed many memorable moments, but here are a few. Highlights: Dinasaur dig up in a dinosaur park in Ogden - Visit to Temple Square - Pioneer day parade - My new niece Kenya - Visiting my sister and playing with her cute children - My dad falling in love with our Isa - Cameron's family reunion - Yellowstone

Back to Tokyo

We just got back to Tokyo after two wonderful months in UT. At first it seemed like it would be too long, but in the end we were sad to leave.
6 of the 8 weeks we spent in the US were without Cameron. We missed him terribly. So we tried to fill up our time with a different adventure everyday. Some more successful than others.
I stayed with my parents for the entire time. It worked out beautifully.
We also had the opportunity the week of Aug 6 to attend the Mylroie family reunion. We went to Island Park, ID. It was tons of fun to be with the whole family and watch the cousins play. During the reunion we enjoyed visits to Yellowstone and of course some fishing, swimming and boating. We look forward to the next reunion.
